Cheerfulness
A Virtues Moment
CHEERFULNESS
"Cheerfulness is seeing the bright side and looking for the good in whatever happens. It is maintaining a positive attitude of optimism and confidence. When we give cheerfully we are wholeheartedly helpful. Even when life is challenging, we make the best of it. We trust that all will be well. We nurture happiness. A cheerful smile can light up everyone's day."

Vaughn Merritt exudes cheerfulness! This twenty-something young man works as a food sample server at Costco in Issaquah, WA. Whenever I am there and hear the most enthusiastic cheerful voice "selling" free samples, I know Vaughn is geniunely talking with customers, smiling with his mouth and his eyes, showing friendliness to everyone who goes by. Some young men his age would not relish wearing a hair net over his cool beard and standing for several hours a day giving out free samples, but this young man gives the best of himself, cheerfully. I know his Christian faith gives him a sense of purpose and being the best he can be at anything he does.
Here's to you, Vaughn, for making the world a better place!
