"Companioning is about going into the wilderness of the soul with another human being: It is not about thinking you are responsible for finding the way out." - Dr. Alan Wolfelt
Betsy Lydle Smith has been a Virtues Project Facilitator since 1992, and Master Facilitator since 2002. She was fortunate to learn from and be mentored by Virtues Project co-founder, Linda Kavelin-Popov, and a group of friends and colleagues who have companioned each other regularly for many years. Betsy and her husband Pete consider Companioning to be the best tool they've had in their marriage of 53 years.

Betsy's facilitation skills are excellent and the four two-hour sessions were informative. entertaining and flew by. While I may have understood the theory of companioning prior to the course, I have a long way to go to master it. However the heightened awareness that I gained from the course is already reaping benefits. -Dee Wilson, Taupo, New Zealand
I am observing the deep effect of what I've learned from this course is having on me. In particular, it helps me to call on the virtues of Detachment and Trust in various situations, which is to Respect others' process and not to take on their spiritual work myself. In return it relieves me of a sense of responsibility and self-importance and leads me to the virtue of Humility.
